A Message From Our
Chairman of the Board

With the Winter closing and the beauty of Spring signaling the rebirth of all that has been dormant in the season past, it is once again time  to rededicate our energies and support to the children who depend so much on our 15-Childhood Language and Learning Centers in the Orient of California.

The ability to speak is one of God's most precious gifts.  It is the most obvious distinction between civilized man and all lower forms of life, and is the most important learning link between a child and it's parents.

Imagine the pain that parents experience when their beautiful child is found to be afflicted with aphasia, a condition which inhibits the timely development of childhood language skills, or any other learning dysfunction, such as dyslexia or stuttering.  These conditions effectively build a communication wall between parents and their children, and are the conditions now being treated by our 15 California Scottish Rite Childhood Language and Learning Centers with the most up-to-date therapies known.

Then imagine that your selfless support or our Language Centers is the single most important act possible which can change the anguish of a parent's pain into hope and joy as they see the transformation of their child from one with a learning disability to a fully functioning person able to communicate normally.

The most powerful testimony to the goodness of our Language Centers is to see for yourself the loving look of a mother's face when she hears the words "Ma Ma" spoken for the first time by a child who has been tragically silent all its life.

Well, you don't have to imagine that this might happen because you have actually caused this to happen each and every day throughout our Orient with your unselfish support of out Clinics through our California Scottish Rite Foundation.  So now is the time for all of us, working together, to continue to guarantee that the families of the children afflicted with language disorders will have a place to turn to which gives them the best treatment known for their child and a hope for a brighter future for their family.  This is truly Faith, Hope and Charity at its finest.
